I had bought a Lincoln MKX from this dealership at the end of August 2025. I put $2500 down & left with the vehicle with the loan approved. 3 or 4 days later I got a very nasty text message telling me I need to return the car or they will call the cops on me. They didn't give an explanation until I asked them a few times, then they told me the lender had a problem with my paystubs. I was out of town so I asked them if I could call the lender to try & fix things. If all else failed, I would be back in town Tuesday & I will return car then. I called the lender & they told me they just needed new copies of my disability income & utility bill, so I sent them in. I even made sure to ask about the paystubs. I let the dealership know that I talked to the lender and what I needed to do. The dealership told me they should be able to look at them today because it was only 12 pm. I said they are Eastern time & it’s a Friday. I called the lender back on Monday. They had the documents & were going to escalate this. I let the dealership know. I called the lender again on Tuesday. They told me they were just waiting on the dealership to resubmit the paperwork. They even double & triple checked that everything was good to go. I let the dealership know this. I took the car back & they told me my boyfriend didn't get approved for financing. He was going to get the loan under him. They never even resubmitted my paperwork. The finance manager & salesman both told me I would get my full down payment back. I called the next day to ask when my check would be done & they told me the next day after 4 pm. That’s when they told me I was going to be charged a rental fee for the 10 days I had car, but wouldn't say how much. I asked for the GM & the finance manager to call but neither one did. I went on Saturday & was told the check wouldn't be ready until Tuesday morning because the person who writes checks was out on vacation. I explained to him my frustration about how this was an inconvenience & how the GM or the finance manager never called me back. I went Tuesday morning around 10:30 am. They made me wait 1 1/2 hours before I finally got up to ask what was going on. The sales manager told me it still wasn't ready & they would have it to me by 6pm. They said they only had 1 person to make the checks, which I found out they lied. I told them that this was messing with my time and that I have been very patient. It’s not that hard to write a check. I talked to him about the rental fee & this is when he tells me it’s $50 a day. I asked where this was in writing and he told me he will find it & he will show it to me when I got my check. I told him I shouldn’t be charged that considering the games that have been played with giving me my check and both the salesman & finance manager told me I would get my full down payment back. He asked who the salesman was, I told him & his comment was that the salesman probably didn’t know, I said OK but your finance manager should. I asked for the GM to call me again so I could talk to him about this, yet again no call back. I went back to the dealership around 5:30pm I got my check with $550 taken out. They took an extra $50 on top of what they had told me. Then I was told that the GM was too busy to call me because he runs multiple stores. I said he doesn’t have 5 minutes in 1 week to call me. The sales lady had an attitude telling me yeah, he was too busy. The sales manager wouldn’t even come out of the office to hand me the check or show me where it talks about a rental fee. They will not give me any information such as names & phone numbers I can call to talk to someone about this. They wasted a week of my time. I lost out on work, buying another car and wasted my energy.
