Education at OHCS is about so much more than “rules and books.”

The first thing you should know about our school is that we put God first. Each teacher and staff member has a personal relationship in Christ, and with parents and students together we are a community that asks God to be a part of daily school life as well as in all other aspects of life.

The second thing you should know is that God has blessed our efforts. We’ve been providing a quality Christian education since 1938. Composite scores on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills consistently average one to three grade levels ahead of the national norm
the longer the student has attended OHCS, the greater the difference in scores.

Children who attend OHCS and go on to other schools are respected, well-prepared and often high achievers.

The OHCS “Little Eagles” preschool pre-reading program uses systematic instruction of readiness activities for the essential components of reading: phonics awareness, phonics, and development of language, vocabulary and story comprehension.

Using the “Reading Street” and “The A Beka Program” OHCS has the ability to customize an approach to the curriculum appropriate to the development of the child. This builds a solid foundation for later learning, and sets the school apart from publicly available reading readiness programs.

OHCS is celebrating 75 years of Christian education in this community. Our goal continues to be what the founding fathers of the school desired for their children, that being, to help students learn and see the world through the lens of God's Word and provide our young children (the future generation) with a solid Christian worldview and prepare them for lives of service in His Kingdom.

Oak Harbor Christian school loves sports!
We are part of a school league that competes in soccer, basketball, and track. The 2013 boys basketball team were league champions. Go Eagles!

Students, parents, and teachers are always giving!
OHCS supports our community by cleaning beaches, entertaining the elderly at senior homes, pulling weeds outside local businesses, supporting the local food bank. They are also supporters of charitable organization such as Samaritans Purse, DCI Uganda, and Pregnancy care clinic just to name a few.
