Visiting Nurse has served the healthcare needs of the residents of northeast Indiana since 1888. As a community-based, non-profit agency, the Visiting Nurse team pours our hearts into caring for the seriously ill and their families. Our holistic approach to caring for the terminally ill means that each patient receives the best care possible. At Visiting Nurse, we care both for the patient and the family, with supportive services and bereavement counseling at The Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center, located on the Visiting Nurse campus, available at no charge to those who go on living. Hospice care is a special approach to caring for people with a life-limiting illness. Our goal is to foster the optimal quality of life through medical, spiritual and emotional support. Hospice care treats the patient, not the disease.
